  • A French group with a strong international presence asked us to design and implement a comprehensive reporting system including sales, marketing, HR, per-products margins and treasury, with actual and budget figures.
The system also needed to produce moving sales, treasury and procurement forecasts in order to communicate subsidiaries' requirements for finished goods and active principles to production sites.

We redesigned the reporting processes and statements, and specified a tailor-made system allowing subsidiaries to use only the appropriate modules. The system was light, reliable (well tested, with an online operational users' guide) and linked with the consolidation systems at Head Office.

  • A group with a complex distribution and production network (several manufacturing locations, more than fifty distribution subsidiaries worldwide) wished to improve its inventory management.

Our analysis unearthed several problems: what was the right level of information for Head Office purposes? How are inventories valued (actual, standard)? How are internal margins due to successive internal transfers determined to enable cost consolidation? How are the financial costs of inventories calculated?
We re-engineered the concepts, modelled calculation principles and wrote detailed specifications for a worldwide inventory monitoring tool, linked with the reporting systems.

  • A pharmaceuticals group, operating directly or indirectly in more than one hundred countries, wished to get a clearer view of its sales price data through time, thus enabling to account for the evolution in time of the price of a product and to compare prices of a product worldwide at a selected date. Prices to be monitored were not only the VAT included final price to customers, but also the wholesale prices and the internal group transfer prices.

Upon careful identification of the data involved, we recommended and followed the implementation of a decision system relying on a multidimensional database that can be scanned in all relevant dimensions.
